Our July

So, updating our blog has obviously not been a priority for me lately. Truth be told, we've had a very complete month. Work for both of us has been an insane frenzy this summer, leaving me wanting nothing more than to escape from my office and the computer at the end of the day. Regardless, I know I'm long overdue for an update and there's some much anticipated news at the end of this post.

The month started with some much needed relaxation time with my family in Georgia. For the first time since our wedding, my entire family got together. It was so fantastic to see everyone again. Especially since my youngest brother Owen hadn't had the opportunity to meet Brick yet. And yes, Brick is nearly 1 and a half years old. It was a long overdue visit to say the least.

Some highlights from the trip:

AND landed, a 180 on the wakeboard.


Owen was pulled over by DNR for failing to secure his passengers (or something like that).


Brick had more water fun than should be reasonably possible for a kid his age.


And was completely unphased by his first time on the boat (yes, he fell asleep).


We got one complete picture of my entire family (it was late, and we probably all look tired, but at least we're all accounted for).

We didn't managed to squeeze in many festivals in July, but we did manage to squeeze in lots and lots of ice cream (I'm starting to remember how I gained all that weight when I was pregnant with Brick).




So, today, the last day of our July, we had a doctor's appointment. We found out that we have a very healthy, happily growing, somewhat uncooperative, baby GIRL!





She kept her legs tucked up underneath her throughout almost the entire ultrasound. The technician had a hard time determining the sex, but the doctor seemed quite positive that there were some identifiable "girl parts." Time to start collecting lots of pretty pink and girly things!
