Mall Santa

Brick was less than thrilled about meeting Santa for the first time. This was the best picture we could get. I guess he needs a few more years before he realizes how fantastic Santa is.

Top Story

Bryan was featured on the local news tonight. When we moved into our new home, we were bit discouraged to find out that we were living 2 houses down from a registered sex offender. Fortunately, most of our neighbors share the same sentiment and have been rallying to get him out of the neighborhood since before we moved in.

As part of their efforts, all the major affiliates have come to cover the story. Bryan happened to be available this afternoon when a reporter came knocking.

9 Months

Where does the time go? It doesn't seem like it was all that long ago that I was taking pictures of Brick at 6 months, and now here we are at 9 months!

The kid likes to move around entirely too much, so it's nearly impossible for me to get a nice picture of him anymore. To help curb his mobility, I'll sometimes put him in this bucket.

I was so happy to finally a good picture that I somehow overlooked the drool on his shirt, food on his face and that crazy hair that's starting to get out of hand. Oh well, I personally think it adds to the cuteness.

Stairs

Apparently crawling wasn't enough for our little adventurer, so we now have a climber on our hands. The other day, Brick made it all the way to the top of the stairs all by himself - with careful supervision from Mom & Dad, of course.

But the birds aren't! I hope that eventually I'll get around to documenting our move, but in the meantime, I have a little anecdote. Yesterday, we toured a fitness center. While viewing the outdoor pool, a bird flew directly into the snack bar, which was closed and guarded by a metal pull-down. We heard a loud thud and soon realized what happened.

Well, today, I was in our living room and heard something smack against our window. I pulled up the shade and sure enough, there was another poor soul of a bird, lying cold in the grass. Maybe it's more common than I realized for birds to fly full force into inanimate objects. Or maybe the birds in Texas need a little help.

You Missed

I promise this photo was not staged. I was feeding Brick when he scooted forward and planted his face into the spoon, landing a huge dollop of goo right on his nose.

Obstacle Course

Apparently bored with unpacking, Brick made his own obstacle course involving a console table, a plastic storage bin and an exercise ball.

Piles

This was, until recently, the status of our kitchen.
The piles of packing paper seemed endless.
