Memorial Day Weekend

All in all, we had a nice weekend. My parents came up. It was Dad's (aka "Gramps") first opportunity to meet Brick.

Saturday night, we hit the Durham Bulls game. The right fielder tossed a ball into the stands, which landed right in the chest of the guy sitting directly behind me. If I had better reflexes, I might have been able to snag it from him. The real thrill of the night though came when one of the Bulls' hitters smashed a homerun right into our area. Bryan managed to tip the ball with his fingers, but couldn't quite grab it. It was knocked down by the crowd and ultimately picked up by the guy sitting next to us. Some luck.

On Monday, we decided to visit Durant Nature Park. For the longest time, we were completely unmotivated to visit this park, which is only a few miles from our house. We finally did a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Unfortunately, there aren't too many trails we can take the stroller on, but it'll be a great place to visit when Brick's a little older. While Brick slept in his stroller, we attempted to fly a kite, but with very little wind to help there was a whole lot more running than flying.

Brick achieved a baby milestone on Monday as well. He rolled over, completely unassisted. While it may not seem like much to those without children, the fact that he's moving on his own is a very evident sign of big things to come.
